Polymarket Combos and Totalis parlays are both multi-leg positions priced on demand by market makers, and both pay only if every leg wins. They differ in what goes inside them, how they are collateralized, and how you get out. Polymarket Combos bundle Polymarket's own sports markets and stay tradable until resolution. Totalis parlays combine 2 to 5 outcomes across eight categories, referencing markets listed on Polymarket and Kalshi, and exit through an auction.

How each product works#

Polymarket Combos launched in June 2026. You bundle picks across Polymarket markets into one Yes or No position, and a request-for-quote system sends it to competing market makers who price it. At launch the catalog was sports (moneyline, spread and totals), with other categories signaled as future work. Polymarket US added Combos in August 2026. Polymarket also lists standing parlay markets with their own order books; Combos are the user-built version.

A Combo position stays tradable until it resolves. If three legs of a four-leg combo have already won, you can sell rather than sweat the last one, subject to the liquidity in that combo's market.

Totalis parlays use the same quoting idea with a different structure. Totalis is a derivatives layer, not an exchange with its own contracts. It lists markets from Polymarket and Kalshi as data and resolution sources, and your position is synthetic and settled inside Totalis; nothing routes to the underlying venue. One parlay can hold a Polymarket leg and a Kalshi leg.

You pick 2 to 5 outcomes across politics, sports, crypto, finance (including stocks), economics, entertainment, weather and tech. Market makers quote the exact combination live, your stake and the maker's collateral lock in on-chain Solana vaults, and settlement is automatic once the referenced markets resolve. You commit only at a price you accepted: if the best quote moves against you before your commit lands, the commit fails instead of filling worse. Listed markets are recurring, liquid on the underlying venue, and short-dated, typically settling within days to two weeks.

Scope#

Polymarket's combo catalog today is sports. Its deepest markets, elections, geopolitics and world events, are not yet combinable inside a Combo, and legs cannot come from outside Polymarket.

Totalis is built for the view that crosses categories: a political outcome plus a crypto price plus an economic print, quoted as one position without a standing market for each combination. As of August 2026 it is the only venue quoting positions that reference both Polymarket and Kalshi markets across categories.

Totalis is also smaller by design. Bets run from $1 to $100 USDC per parlay with payout odds up to 1000x, on short-dated markets. Polymarket publishes no per-combo dollar cap, though Polymarket US sets position accountability levels and may impose contract-specific limits.

Collateral#

Polymarket is fully collateralized: every Yes/No pair is backed by a full dollar locked in its token contracts. That is what makes positions verifiable on-chain, and it means a market maker's capital is locked position by position. Polymarket does not document netting across a book of combos.

Totalis margins each maker's book as one portfolio. It computes the worst-case loss across every outcome state of the whole book and locks collateral for that scenario only, so two parlays that cannot both win do not both post their full payout. Modeled on books of 3 to 5 leg parlays, this cuts required collateral by 30 to 40% against posting each trade alone. Capital a maker does not lock is capital it can quote with, which is why this shows up for you as tighter odds.

Fees#

On single legs the cheaper venue depends on price and category, and geopolitics is free on Polymarket. On a multi-leg view the structure matters more: five separate contracts are five spreads and five fees, a parlay is one quote and one fee.

Funding, custody and access#

Polymarket International holds USDC deposited on Polygon as pUSD in a wallet you control. Polymarket US runs under a CFTC-regulated entity and funds in USD by debit card, ACH or wire.

Totalis runs on USDC on Solana: buy it by card or Apple Pay, bridge from another chain inside the app, or send native USDC directly. Network fees are sponsored, so you never need SOL. The vaults are non-custodial: the protocol's program, not Totalis, controls the funds, and neither side can move locked collateral on its own. Signing is delegated to a secure enclave your key never leaves, which the docs describe as semi-custodial, and you can revoke it at any time. If a referenced market is cancelled on the underlying venue, the position is cancelled and both sides' collateral unlocks. Totalis is not available to US persons.

Which one fits your trade?#

  • Sports combos or large positions: Polymarket. Deep sports markets, no $100 cap, and combos you can sell on the open market.
  • Political and geopolitical single markets: Polymarket, though not yet inside Combos.
  • Cross-category parlays: Totalis, the one quoting politics, crypto, economics, weather and sports legs in one position, referencing both exchanges' markets.
  • US access: Polymarket US. Totalis is not available to US persons.

The two overlap less than the names suggest. A trader can reasonably use Polymarket for sports combos and Totalis for the combinations no single-venue product lists.

Getting started on Totalis#

FAQ#

Are Polymarket Combos the same as parlays?#

In structure, yes. A Combo is a multi-leg position that pays only if every leg resolves in your favor, which is what sportsbooks call a parlay. Polymarket prices Combos by request for quote and, unusually, lets you trade the position until it resolves.

Can Polymarket Combos include politics or crypto markets?#

Not at launch. Combos covered sports markets only (moneyline, spread and totals), with other categories signaled for later. To combine politics, crypto or economics outcomes in one position today, Totalis quotes cross-category parlays that reference Polymarket and Kalshi markets.

Can I sell a parlay before it resolves?#

On both, through different mechanisms. A Polymarket Combo trades on its own market until resolution, subject to liquidity. On Totalis, requesting an exit opens a roughly ten-second broadcast auction in which every market maker can bid one all-in price. You see the highest live bid and take it or walk away; nothing fills at a price you did not accept. A losing position can exit for less than it cost, and you never pay more than your stake to leave. Details are in the early cashout guide.

Why does collateral matter to me as a trader?#

Because it sets the price you are quoted. A maker on a fully collateralized venue locks capital for every position separately. A Totalis maker locks capital against the worst case of its whole book, modeled at 30 to 40% less, and can quote tighter with the difference.
